England covers just over half of all the UK, covering 130 395 km2[13]. Most of it consists of lowlands[10]. Hills are concentrated in the North (the Pennines) and the North-West (Cumbrian mountains). Among the latter, the highest peak of England — Scafell pike (978 m)[10]. The longest rivers are the Thames, Severn and the Humber.
